The airport expansion is based on the Master Development Plan 2015-2019 which identified the need to make a number of improvements and expansions in the terminal building.

The project has focused on the expansion of the Last Wait room (SUE), International baggage Claim, Customs and the general adaptation of the airport accessibility according to civil Aviation requirements CO SA-09.2 / 13.
